Charged only after a matching manager confirms you are ready. If the manager judges you are not ready, the process stops and nothing is charged.
Each member pays their own fee. One side's fee does not depend on the other.
Fees come from an administrator-managed matrix keyed on country × gender × income band, then multiplied by a purchasing power (PPP) adjustment factor.

Gender and income are parameters of ability to pay and market pricing, not a judgement of a person. The rules are explicit, published, and applied consistently.
A woman with no income and no assets may receive free membership after verification, so that economic hardship is not a barrier. Apart from the fee, the process is exactly the same.
Fee figures are set by the operator and may differ between countries. The pricing policy is reviewed by legal counsel before it takes effect.
